Our methodology
How foods, exercises, and guides are documented, dated, and published — and which limitations to keep in mind before using them.
How to read the Shapier score
The Shapier score is a synthetic 0-100 indicator stored in the catalog. It can help compare entries, but the current public data does not expose its detailed calculation, so it should remain secondary to the nutrition values and sources.
- 70 and above: favorable landmark
- 40 to 69: intermediate landmark
- Below 40: unfavorable landmark
This score is neither the Nutri-Score nor medical advice. It does not replace the detailed nutrition values on the entry or the guidance of a health professional.
Verifiable data sources
Catalog nutrition values may rely on reference composition tables: Ciqual (Anses), USDA FoodData Central, and Open Food Facts. When a verified external source is available, the entry lists its provider, exact record, version or date, license, and verification date. An entry that does not yet have this traceability says so instead of inventing a reference.
Corrections and updates
A reported error is checked against the source and scope shown on the entry. If confirmed, Shapier corrects the data, updates the visible date, and keeps the content, structured data, and sitemap aligned. An entry without an external source stays out of the index, except for the documented historical cohort, until exact evidence covers its values.
Report an error or request a correctionHow exercise entries are built
The catalog supplies the movement, muscles, equipment, media, steps, and mistakes. Enhanced editorial entries add setup, breathing, indicative programming, progression, safety, sources, and a review date. These landmarks describe a general movement; they are neither a diagnosis nor an individual training prescription.
An organizational review date means Shapier checked the published content and its references on that date. It must not be read as the signature of a coach, physical therapist, or physician when no such person is named.
How guides and comparisons are written
Every page should answer a distinct intent, provide a concrete method or decision, and connect important claims to primary or institutional sources. The displayed date separates initial publication from the latest substantive review. Shapier remains the organizational author until a real human author or reviewer is publicly identified.
Legacy generic content does not represent this target contract. It is being rewritten, consolidated, or removed from the index according to usefulness and observed demand, and no new guide should use that model.
Checks before publication
Content is considered ready only when its evidence and public behavior agree:
- specific visible content without invented claims or qualifications;
- explicit source, scope, date, and limitations when the topic requires them;
- consistent title, description, H1, canonical, and language versions;
- structured data limited to what the page actually shows;
- a public HTML response without server error on both warm and cold paths.
Publishing and traceability
Every entry displays its data update date and the organizational profiles documenting its publication and source policy:

Limitations to keep in mind
Food values given per 100g remain indicative and vary with variety, preparation, or product. Exercise cues depend on training level, anatomy, history, and health. All Shapier content provides general educational landmarks; it does not replace individual dietary support, coaching, or medical advice.
